Greyhound shutting down due to lack of funds.

Greyhound buses will be permanently shut down and will stop transporting passengers starting from 14th of February 2021. The company was already in financial crisis before the pandemic-related travel restrictions which is the final straw that made it easier for the company to truly take a stand on their business closure! The CEO of the company, Gary Chaplin says "after suffering  losses for several years, Greyhound is no longer financially sustainable and has come to the end of the road"

According to the Statistics, the company transported more than 1.4 million passengers around the country and the neighboring countries like Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana every year.

Truly, it will be a big blow to South Africa intercity travelers but Greyhound promised not to leave their passengers stranded. All the passengers who have already paid for their tickets after 14th February will be refunded.
