FUTO Elected First Female V.C.
Federal University Of Technology, Owerri, Imo State Nigeria has elected its first ever female Vice Chancellor of the university. FUTO as it is called was founded in the year 1980 and has never had a female V.C before this newly elected female professor. Prof. Nnenna N. Oti Prof. Oti was elected the Vice Chancellor of the institution by the Governing Council of the school. She emerged tops with 75.5 points to beat other six candidates. Prof. Ikechukwu Dozie who scored 69.7 points was her closest rival at the election that made her the winner. As the winner of the election, Prof. Oti, who is currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics will succeed the outgoing Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Francis Eze. The elected female V.C. was born in 1958 in her hometown, Afikpo North, Ebonyi State.
