Speaking after the verdict, Philonise Floyd, George Floyd's brother said; "I got calls and DMs from people in Brazil, from Ghana, from Germany, London, Italy, they are all saying the same thing, 'we won't be able to breathe until you are able to breathe.' Today we are able to breathe again. I feel relieve today. I finally have the opportunity for, hopefully getting some sleep. A lot of days I pray and I hoped and I was putting everything into existence. I said I have faith that he will be convicted."
Terrence Floyd, another brother to George Floyd, said; " I salute him because he showed me how to be strong. He showed me how to be respectful. He showed me how to speak my mind. I'm gonna miss him. But now i know he's in history. What a day to be Floyd, man."
Brenda Williams, Nephew to George Floyd, said; " So today is pivotal moment to America. It's something this country has needed for a long time now. And hopefully, today is the start of that. When I say a pivotal moment, we need change in this broken system. It was built to oppress us. It was built against us."
In conclusion, the verdict shows that at last, black life really matters.
