U.S new government supports Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to lead W.T.O
President Joe Biden of United States of America has offered strong support to Nigerian's former finance minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala to lead World Trade Organization WTO. She was slated to be the next DG of W.T.O. after winning her opposition, Yoo Myung-Hee from South Korea, but the former president of U.S Donal Trump withheld it!

Yesterday, Yoo Myung-Hee who's the current Trade Minister of South Korea announced her unwillingness to continue with WTO DG race which made it possible for Nigerian former finance minister to stand unopposed.
Dr. Okonjo-Iweala was minister of finance in Nigeria twice in two different administration and during her time as a minister she helped to put Nigerian economy back to good shape. She is a member of board of trustees of Standard Chattered Bank, Global Alliances For Vaccines and Immunization, Twitter and African Risk capacity. The world believe that she will do very good as DG of WTO and she has spent 25 years of her career at World Bank as a development economist. It was her dedication and good record that made her to get to number 2 position as the Managing Director, Operations from 2007 to 2011.
Remember, she was the first female finance minister of Nigeria and also the first female to serve in that office twice. Her good tracks and dedication has earned her some accolades including Euromoney global finance minister of the year 2005.
President Biden administration announcement of its support of her candidacy is really a welcome development. On Friday, Dr. Okonjo-Iweala twitted her happiness and it reads "Grateful for the expression of support from the US today for DG @WTO. Congratulations to Madam Yoo of Rep. Korea for a hard fought campaign. Thank you president Muhammadu Buhari @MBuhari and all Nigerians for your unflinching support. Thank friends. Love to my family. Glory to God."
Congrats once again Dr. Oknojo-Iweala @NOIweala
